Alex McAnally
Manager / Funeral Director (Licensed)
Alex is a native of Grainger County, TN. He received his Funeral Director’s and Embalmer’s degree from John A. Gupton College in Nashville, TN. Prior to being a funeral director he worked as a nurse for many years in many different capacities giving him a greater understanding of grief and how to cope with grieving families. Alex has always been very active in supporting his community and has worked in many different arenas. All of this was centered and focused on customer service and caring for others. Alex says and teaches his staff one simple rule to start each day. He says his goal everyday is to make one person truly smile, because if you can make them truly smile you can carry a bit of their pain away for them in that moment. Alex lives with his wife and 2 sons in Bean Station.
Gail Douglas
Office Administrator (Non Licensed)
Gail was raised in Sneedville and is the daughter of Pete & Bessie Swiney. Gail & her husband Marvin and their daughter Hannah live in Sneedville and attend Mulberry Gap Baptist Church. Following in her father’s footsteps of working in the funeral service business, she has served as the Office Administrator for McNeil Funeral Home for the past 21 years, as well as assisting in all other aspects of the funeral business. Gail feels honored to be able to assist families in some way during one of their hardest times, whether it be with the business aspect or in final service to the deceased or just simply a listening ear, to be able to make these days go just a little easier for the families we serve.
Marvin Douglas
Funeral Assistant (Non Licensed)
Marvin was raised in the Vardy-Blackwater Community of Hancock County and is the son of the late Regina Douglas Collins. Marvin & his family live in Sneedville. He, his wife Gail & their daughter Hannah attend Mulberry Gap Baptist Church. He is a long-standing member of the Vardy-Blackwater Volunteer Fire Department. Marvin has over 20 years experience in the funeral business, working at McNeil Funeral Home as Funeral Assistant, in the areas of care of the deceased, assisting families, working final services and at cemeteries. He take pride in the opportunity to work in his hometown and to serve the people of Hancock County in this capacity.
Josh Pettiecord
Apprentice Funeral Director and Apprentice Embalmer
Josh is a graduate of Hancock County High School and is currently attending John A. Gupton Mortuary College. He is married to his wife of 27 years. They have lived and made their life together all while living in Hancock County, raising 4 children and have been blessed in recent years with 2 grandchildren.
Josh has served Sneedville as well as surrounding communities for the past 29-year in several capacities one of which has being pastoring local churches. Josh enjoys opportunities to be a friend to people as well as learning about the community history and always treasures peoples accounts of how life used to be.
Larry Wolfe
Funeral Assistant (Non Licensed)
Larry is a native of Sneedville in Hancock County Tennessee. Prior to working at McNeil's Funeral Home, he taught school for 40 years in Hancock County. He has a Master's Degree in Education.
Having been a minister for 33 years he has counseled children and adults with varied issues in their lives. Grief counseling being one of these issues. Working with grieving families has been part of his ministry.
Larry served in many capacities in the community. As a member of the Rescue Squad, he was trained as a licensed EMT and got his CPR certification. Larry worked for Hancock County Ambulance service during his college years. As a member of the Chestnut Ridge Fire Department for a number of years he helped fight many fires. His life has always been involved in caring for other people.
Larry resides in the Green Lawson community.
