Gavin William Seal, age 40, of Sneedville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 11, 2021, after a short illness at UT Hospital.
Gavin was born on December 12, 1980, and immediately this world became a better place. Gavin attended East High School and graduated in 1999. During his time at East High, he enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics.
Gavin was a friend to everyone he met and was adored by everyone who knew him. If he met you once, chances are he was still asking about you 20 years later. He never forgot a face or a name. He was an avid lover of TV shows, movies on DVD, movie soundtracks, Doritos in the red bag, oatmeal crème pies, the sunshine, and the stars. He will be remembered for his pure heart and unconditional love and his ability to always win at Wii bowling. He provided our family and everyone around us with enough funny stories to last us a lifetime.
He was as tough and brave as they come. He had a rough year and a half, after a fall left him permanently injured. But he never complained, unless it was about the weather (he HATED bad weather) or barking dogs.
If you have been lucky enough to be loved by him, then you have been lucky indeed
He is survived by his loving parents, Bill and Janet. His adoring sister, Shara, brother (in law) Porter, nieces, Kate and Liza. Uncle Larry, wife Shari (Chloe and Caitlin Yount, Jake and Jarrod West) Aunt Margaret Drinnon, Faye Diamond, and lots of special cousins and friends. Longtime friend Hughie Malone and special caregiver Amanda Wolfe. He was preceded in death by grandparents Mae and Chester Seal, Ruth and Ralph Yount, Uncle Gary Yount, and Aunt Barbara Mullins
The family would like to say a special thanks to the kind and caring staff on UT Hospital’s 6th floor.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Gavin’s honor to The Hughie Malone Fund. Hughie is Gavin’s lifelong friend and we would like to bless him and make Gavin’s passing as meaningful as his life. Donations can be made to the link below or can be mailed to Shara Alexander at 605 Churchill Road, Knoxville, TN 37909, with Hughie Malone Fund in the memo line
At this time, the family will have a small private graveside service to be followed by a celebration of life on a warm sunny day. BYOD (Bring your own Doritos).
