Christopher (Chris) Clarence King, born January 29, 1974, went home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2020. Chris faithfully attended New Life Baptist Church in Rogersville, Tn. Chris loved the outdoors and hunting. Chris got started in law enforcement where he found his true calling and passion. He got started with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department under Doug Seal, whom he loved like a father. Along the way he also worked as a community corrections officer for the Third District Community in Sneedville. He also worked patrol and as an investigator with the Bean Station Police Department. He joined the LMU Campus Police and Security Department as the second in command in 2017. November 7, 2020 he was appointed Chief, where he had big dreams for the campus, staff and his family. Chris made many friends over the years of his career, and many he loved as brothers and family. He was preceded in death by his dad, Clarence King and Bill Singleton, whom he loved as father.

Sons; Corey King & wife Callie and Hunter King
Mother; Pauline King
Sisters; Diane (Topsy) Lamb & husband Danny and Tina McCoy & husband Mark
Nephew; Michael Lamb & wife Stephanie and their children
Niece; Ashley Duckworth & husband Brandon and their children
He also leaves behind Sylvia (Grandmur) Singleton, whom he loved as a second mother
Also, many friends and extended family
A private graveside service was held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the Swan Creek Church Cemetery
