Obituary On October 13, 2022 Rev. Carson W. Johnson crossed from Jordan’s stormy bank to Canaan’s fair and happy land.  At his side through his illness and for his last breath was his daughter, Velma.  He was born October 5, 1936 at home to Hubert & Voida Johnson.  At the age of 11 he was saved and called to preach at Briar Creek Church.  He shared his testimony often how he was wearing a borrowed pair of overalls that were so big on him they could wrap around him 3 times.  He had never worn a pair of pants before because he was so sick as a child they didn’t think he would live so he wore hand-me-down dresses from his sister.  He would grow into a strong man both physically and in his faith.  He followed in Jesus’ footsteps, becoming a skilled carpenter and spreading the word as a pastor and through evangelism.  His beloved wife of 59 years always by his side until sickness took her.  He was a faithful and loyal soldier for the Lord until the end.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert & Vioda Johnson; wife, Mary Wilma Johnson; infant son; daughter, Charlotte Hopkins; beloved grandson, Sgt. Joshua Mabe; his sisters; and many other family members and friends He is survived by;Daughters; Velma (Kenneth) Mabe, Rebecca Johnson Collins and granddaughter he raised as his own, Kayla (Eric) WilliamsGrandsons; Robbie Bell & family, Mark Bell & family and Jessie HopkinsGranddaughters; Angela Bell & family, Leslie Mabe, Danielle Mabe & Natasha VogtGreat-Grandchildren; Addilyn Mabe, Alayna & Cayson Williams and Gage & Brixton VogtSpecial people in his life; Donna Horne, Christinia Gunner Horne & family and Hannah Baker Special thanks to the staff at Claiborne Medical Center, Amedisys Home Health & Avalon Hospice Graveside services will be held on Sunday, his favorite day of the week, October 16, 2022 at 2 P.M. at his home. Leading the service will be Rev.
